Daniel Packham

Daniel started working in costs in 2015 and joined Paragon in March 2019. During his time at Paragon, Daniel has honed his skills in preparing bills of costs, schedules and conducting matters through the detailed assessment process.

Daniel is experienced in dealing with various areas of costs with a particular focus on receiving party work. He routinely deals with the full detailed assessment process and prides himself of the level of detailed advice he provides his clients throughout each stage. Having started his career focussing primarily on personal injury and clinical negligence matters, he now deals mostly with commercial and Court of Protection work. Daniel also has experience of conducting costs audits on behalf of an ATE insurer.

Daniel is quick to identify key issues and complex points of law in order to give his clients clear and realistic advice on the recoverability of costs. Daniel takes a commercial and strategic approach to all aspects of claims, considering all eventualities and practicalities to each claim. His approach to claims allows him to assess the commercial implications of settlements for his clients; and he regularly achieves very positive results for his clients.

Having studied through the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives since January 2020, Daniel qualified as a Fellow of CILEx in November 2022. Daniel is also on the committee of the Bristol Junior Lawyers Division.
